Too many places to work in Brighton?

Brighton Dynamic

from The Skiff

There are so many great places to work in Brighton.

I recommend you try them all.

If I was't happy working from The Skiff (and from my home) top of my list to try would be:

I think they all provide one day free trials - make the most of them!

If I've missed one you'd recommend please let me know and I'll share it next time.

Every space and coworking community is different, just like every one of you.

It's a bit like the wide variety of coffee shops we have to choose from.

For some people Starbucks or Costa provide the pinnacle of coffee drinking experiences. Others are more into the vibe of Coffee@33 on Trafalgar Street. For some nothing beats the taste of Pelicano Coffee Roasters on Sydney Street.

I personally love having about a dozen to choose from within 3 minutes of The Skiff (including Coffee@33 and Pelicano).

Here's what Si Cornwell (from Digitique Ltd) emailed to me a couple of weeks ago - before I had a chance to ask how his trial at The Skiff went:

"I had a trial day at The Skiff yesterday and really enjoyed it, very friendly atmosphere, the right amount of noise vs work, great location, and a monitor on every desk - exactly the kind of place I'd like to use. Particularly like that it's nothing like a WeWork or Regus, within a few hours of being there I had already had a couple of conversations with people about what each of us was up to, our clients, etc!"

I mentioned last time that we're doing our first promotion in ages at The Skiff. We're celebrating 18 years of The Skiff Ltd so we're limiting it to 18 people.

Si and three other early birds have already snapped up four of the spots.

Here's the deal (14 spots left):

If you book a free tour and trial day before the end of August you can be one of 18 new (or returning) Skiffmates to get £180 of value:

  • You'll get £120 off your first month of membership (we'll send you a coupon after you visit).
  • If you stay for more than one month you'll be able to nominate a current member to get £60 off their next renewal.

Depending on what plan you choose that might mean your membership is completely free of charge for the first month. It brings the cost of all of our memberships below £100 for the first month.

Your trial booking can be for a day in September so no worries if you're spending the next month on the beach.

If you are working in August you might find The Skiff's conditioning provides an even more significant productivity boost than usual.

Book your trial now:

Let me know if you have any questions about this, or in general about places to work in Brighton.

Have a great weekend!

Brighton Dynamic from The Skiff "What's a project you're excited about right now?" It's one of the best questions you can ask when you meet someone in almost any context. It beats "So, what do you do?" every time, and you're far more likely to remember the answer. I love asking it when I meet people at The Skiff, at meetups, or at conferences. I’m curious to hear your answer to that question. So...What’s a project you’re working on that you’re excited about? I’ll go first. I’m currently (and...

Brighton Dynamic from The Skiff I’ve been reading the updated and expanded edition of one of my favourite books, Deploy Empathy. It’s a practical guide to interviewing customers that I often recommend to clients. Though it’s written for people building software products, its lessons apply to any business. The new edition introduces the Four Forces model from Jobs-to-be-Done theory. It got me thinking about reframing what I've learned from talking to people like you when considering coworking:...

Brighton Dynamic from The Skiff I heard something troubling recently – twice, from two different people. They thought The Skiff had closed, or that we’d changed hands during the pandemic, like other workspaces that didn’t make it. Bonkers, right? The truth is, The Skiff’s in the best shape it’s been in over five years. Honestly, I think it’s better now than when we had a bigger space. We’re actually plotting what version 5.0 of The Skiff might look like. Next year will mark the company’s 20th...
