fancy a breakfast walk on the Downs next Friday?

Our July breakfast walk looked something like this:

video preview

It turns out the South Downs is a pretty good place to explore the future of the internet economy. Last month's participants included:

  • A developer who's become the expert on AI adoption in their huge healthcare company.
  • The technical director of an agency helping some of the biggest names in music.
  • A designer who's successfully switched his business from digital to physical products.
  • Founders of profitable local SaaS businesses.

If you'd like to hang out with people like them, join us next week.

Start Friday 28th August away from your screen with a relaxed breakfast walk on the Downs and get back to your desk by around 11 am for a productive Friday afternoon.

We'll be meeting at 8:30 around 15 mins from central Brighton. The exact start point will be shared 48 hours before and we'll coordinate transport from town and back if you need it.

This will be our 4th Stripe Community Brighton gathering. A professional guide will keep us on time and provide breakfast & fresh coffee at an inspiring spot on the Downs, thanks to sponsorship from Stripe.

We're taking a break from Stripe Community Brighton events in September but look out for an announcement for an October gathering.

Hope to see you somewhere away from your home and your screen soon!

Jon

Hinwick House in Bedfordshire

Brighton Dynamic from The Skiff I spent the first three days of this week with 22 software business founders at a grand venue in the midlands fit for filming The Traitors. Hinwick House in Bedfordshire But there were no traitors at this gathering. We all survived and came away from it richer. I've attended many similar events over the years but this one was by far the best. It challenged my thinking and changed my mind on a bunch of things I was previously quite confident about. I made new...

A 47km electric mountain bike ride around Cuckmere Valley and Friston Forest

Brighton Dynamic from The Skiff This week was far less busy than last week. I was tempted to spend all of yesterday in front of my screen seeing how far I could push the latest and greatest LLM while it's cheap. Instead I went for this bike ride with three fellow software folk: A 47km electric mountain bike ride around Cuckmere Valley and Friston Forest As well as covering quite a bit of ground in the real world we had some great conversations. Much of it revolved around one of my favourite...

A morning walk on the Sussex Downs

Brighton Dynamic from The Skiff In my last post I talked about how AI is amplifying the isolation of working from home. Now for a few more things to get humans back in your life... This week A/C has been fighting against AI driven isolation. Many members are coming for extra days of coworking at The Skiff to escape the heatwave. Imagine working comfortably in an Air-Conditioned space that's 10 degrees cooler than your home office! (And also has big-screen monitors you can plug your laptop...
